Greg Alexander

Greg is a USPTA Master Professional and a USTA High Performance Coach. A former #1 ranked player in Texas (Mens 40's), Greg has been a Texas USPTA Pro of the Year (1992), Texas USPTA Coach of the Year (1999), and Texas USPTA Senior Player of the Year (1995), and USPTA Traveling Coach of the Year (2008). Greg has coached many nationally and sectionally ranked juniors for several decades. A belief in solid fundamentals combined with high-percentage tactics is the basis of Greg's teaching philosophy. Keeping the game fun and developing a player is the key to a winning combination. Greg has two daughters who trained at T Bar M and now play college tennis on full scholarships.

 

 
Angela Allin

Angela played college tennis for TCU, where her father, the legendary “Tut” Bartzen, was the head men's coach of TCU for 25 years, She stresses the fundamentals in tennis and believes that getting the basics correct can add to the enjoyment of the game. She emphasizes fun and camaraderie with the coaches and kids at T Bar M where she has been coaching since 1994. All three of Angela's children trained at T Bar M and have gone on to play college tennis.



 

 
Neil Kenner

Neil played his first year of college tennis at Washington University were he was an All-American in singles and doubles and named the school's Freshman Athlete of the Year.  He transferred his sophmore year to the University of Indiana where he played lines 2-4 in singles, all three spots in doubles, and was the team captain his junior and senior years. As a junior tennis player in Texas he was ranked as high as #1 in the state in 18s and also received the prestigious Texas Section Sportsmanship and Leadership Award.  Neil enjoyes working with students of all ages but especially desires to train those who are highly motivated to get better.

 

 

 
Doug Kruger

Doug is the director of the Academy Program and has coached at T Bar M since 1994. He played college tennis at Hawaii Loa where he graduated with a degree in Psychology. Upon graduation from college, Doug started teaching and coaching nationally ranked juniors and collegiate players in Canada and the United States. Doug has been coaching tennis full time since 1991 and has coached and developed numerous top-10 nationally ranked juniors, collegiate players, and several professional players. Doug is a USPTA P-1 Professional and a USTA Certified High Performance Coach.

 

 

 
Dave Licker

Dave is the Director of High Performance at T Bar M Tennis Academy, a USPTA P1 Pro, USTA High Performance Graduate, and USTA Certified in Competitve Player Development. He was the Director of Junior Development for Fretz Tennis Center from '99-'04, has been a Texas Section Teach Coach for 12 years, the 18's Fed Cup Head Coach and  16's Zonals Head Coach. He was the USPTA Tour Coach of the Year in '07,  Chairman or the Texas Coaches Commision from '06- present and was recently selected to the USTA Regional Training Staff. Dave has worked with several players who have achieved Division 1 scholarships, Eddie Herr and Orange Bowl Championships, gold, silver, and bronze balls for USTA age group National Championships, national sportsmanship awards and numerous sectional titles. Dave believes tennis is the best tool to teach life lessons and grow as an individual. 

 

 
Ron Mercado

Ron played college tennis for the University of South Florida in Tampa and went on to coach the Hillsborough Community College women's tennis team to nationals. Ron has been teaching for the past 15 years and was the head pro at Harbour Island Athletic Club & Spa before coming to T Bar M.  His teaching philosophy is to be able to share and teach what he has learned and experienced in all the years he has been involved in tennis.

 

 

 

 
Joey Rive

Joey played on the professional circuit for seven years, achieving a career high singles ranking of 57 and 48 in doubles. He played Davis Cup for Puerto Rico, was a practice partner for the US Davis Cup team, and was inducted into the Florida State University Hall of Fame in 1999. Joey spent three years as a USTA National Coach where he worked with American players such as Andy Roddick, Taylor Dent, Robby Ginepri, Mardy Fish and Alex Bogomolov. Joey spent eleven years as a college coach at Florida State, Alabama, and TCU.  He was recently selected to the USTA Regional Training Staff.

 

 

 
Theron Cole

Theron was a top-30 junior in Texas before attending Tyler Junior College, where he was a National Junior College All American. He was a member of TJC’s National Junior College runner-up team in 1999-2000. He ranked among the top 20 in NCAA Division II as a member of the Abilene ChristianUniversity team two years later. After college, he played on the International Tennis Federation Futures Circuit, which allowed him to travel extensively. Theron has played in Africa, Asia, Central and South America and all over the United States.

 

 

 

 

 
Matt Cook

Matt played college tennis for Georgetown College in Kentucky where he ranked among the NAIA Division I top 20. A teaching pro at Spindletop Counry Club and Dallas Athletic Club following his college career, Matt coached the Dallas Christian High girls to a TAPPS 5A State Title in 2004. On court he stresses the fundamentals of footwork and teaches clay court basics that players can use on any surface.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
Nate Hurd

Nate played college tennis at Washburn University in Topeka Kansas from 2001-2003 and was the team's most valuable player in 2003. Before joining the T Bar M staff, Nate was the head pro at Topeka Country Club from  2002-2007. Nate enjoys working with junior players and is a coach in the Pre-Qualified Program.
